Year Ahead Reading - 2024

The theme for 2024 is one of celebration and sharing in the fruits of labor as the hard work and dedication to achieving one's goals by setting a solid foundation leads to success. The Three of Cups signifies the celebration of a successful year as it may relate to your goals, aspirations, and achievements whether it is in your career, family, relationship, or overall happiness. Like beauty, success is in the eye of the beholder.

QUARTER ONE - JANUARY, FEBRUARY, & MARCH

The theme for the first quarter of the year is represented by the Major Arcana card, the World. January, February, and March is represented by the Hanged Man, the Seven of Swords, and the Queen of Pentacles respectively. The World signifies new beginnings and adventures, attacking the new year with energy, vindication, vitality confidence, and poise.

The Hanged Man for January is about surrendering and letting go, and opening yourself up to new opportunities and experiences that come your way. Surrender to the flow of the Universe, do not fight or resist the challenges that are meant to serve you, that are meant as learning experiences disguised. Have the foresight to anticipate such obstacles so that the lessons are ever present in your mind.

However, February cautions you with the Seven of Swords with being on the look out for deception by others, or your own deceptive thoughts. This is true for spiritual work as well. See things for what they truly are and take new information with a grain of salt. Discernment will be crucial throughout this month. January and February will prepare you for the rest of the year, especially as it leads into March.

March caps off the first quarter with the Queen of Pentacles. March will be a time for laying the foundational work in any aspect of life you are pursuing either financially, spiritually, or in a relationship. Lay a solid foundation and take care to nurture it. Planting a seed for the future requires nurturing and tending to in order for the success of the year's celebration and theme to come into fruition.

QUARTER TWO - APRIL, MAY, & JUNE

The Ace of Wands marks the theme of the second quarter of 2024. The next three months will cultivate new opportunities, sources of inspiration, and growth providing that the foundation has been properly set and attended to from March. April is represented by the Chariot where the groundwork has now led into action and productivity. Success is in reach and truly possible because of the preparation, strategic planning, and mindfulness of the path that leads to the achievement of goals. Remember, one step leads to another; one path leads to many, many more.

The new opportunities may, or will, lead to an abundance of happiness, knowledge, and/or resources, depending on your intent and your goal. For some, it may be financial security. For others, work opportunities including additional responsibilities, and promotions. In a spiritual sense, it could be breakthroughs or gaining talents in new modalities. Recognize and embrace these new opportunities as you paved the path from the previous months to manifest them. This is what the Ace of Pentacles has in store for May.

By June, the High Priestess will be in full affect. Overall, the High Priestess represents a strong presence and power in the feminine energy. She also represents a command and control of one's world for their highest good with confidence with the application of the divine feminine energy. In June, stand and sit strong in your feminine power of intuition and a strong connection to the spiritual energy of the High Priestess.

QUARTER THREE - JULY, AUGUST, & SEPTEMBER

The theme for the third quarter is a time of rest and reflection as the Four of Cups oversees July, August, and September. It will be a time to step back and take stock of what the first half of the year had brought. To see where your path had lead, for better or for worse. Re-evaluation and reflection. Reflection. Seven of Cups marks July with more opportunities, or a continuation of a string of opportunities connected to the first from the beginning of the year. However, with new and fast approaching opportunities comes false-opportunities from others who intend to deceive. People who present an illusion of mutually beneficial opportunities. Even those with true and honest intend may offer opportunities that may appear to be a good fit, but on further inspection, it does not serve you. Be careful of shiny objects and remember, look deep within, and be aware of the old saying, "the grass is always greener on the other side". Make sure you are not allergic.

That leads to August with the King of Swords, which represent further command and control, but this time, with one's actions through intellect and logical reasoning. Focus on your ability to make sound decisions. Gather all necessary information and use all necessary and appropriate resources to make the best informed decision possible.

September brings with it the Wheel of Fortune. The Major Arcana is quite vague, here. So, be mindful and aware of what the world presents you. On one hand, what may not be working, or struggles you are facing, or conflicts you are experiencing may turn around to be in your favor. On the other, what is good may turn sour. Also keep in mind, the Wheel of Fortune does not only have two positions: fortune and misfortune. The wheel does not always turn quickly, but could also rotate slowly. This could be a slow turn, allowing one to be aware, evaluate, adjust, and then take action to surrender to the flow, or course correct. Remember, the third quarter is about reflection.

QUARTER FOUR - OCTOBER, NOVEMBER, & DECEMBER

The final quarter of 2024 shows us the Four of Pentacles that is all about security and control for this reading. This may also include finances as one may need to be prudent in saving money, staying away from investments, and overall spending. Conservation of money and resources. That also applies to energy. Keep a reserve of money, energy, and resources (including knowledge), and maintain control in securing your conservatorship.

For October, the Lovers are strong in their presence. They bring harmony, balance, and alignment to one's values with their world. Whether it be in one's career, family, or loving relationships. The Lovers also signifies a close partnership that aids the creation or shifting into a harmonious environment.

As 2024 is about opportunities, the Fool card for November is a reminder to trust the path, the Universe that is working in tandem with you and your spirit team, and your intuition. You can walk "blindly" down the path because you paved it in faith and the strength of your intuitiveness. So, not so much "blindly", but "confidently". The Fool card is also encouraging you to continue to be willing to go on adventures by being open to new opportunities.

December 2024 rounds out the year with the Knight of Swords. The Knight of Swords is about embarking on new adventures as the knight sets off in flight toward the horizon and into the unknown. The year has been setting up opportunity after opportunity, building toward the opportunity for security, control, and adventures grounded in preparation and sound decisions. This is the outcome of all the work you put in to achieve your goals and dreams: a new opportunity and/or adventure catapulting you into 2025.
